I don't think they've implemented the rate increase logic in their system. Still working out the kinks, and such.

Do you own ING stocks?

I don't dislike ING or anything, but I find the fanatical loyalty towards them a bit perplexing.

Reminds me of the the brick and mortar banks. Even after everyone else is raising their interest rates on savings vehicles, the banks take their sweet old time about implementing the newer rates.

Somehow, those 5% CD rates don't look so bad now to most people who were complaining about them. 5% isn't bad, but anything below that isn't a great rate.

I am happy with Countrywide Bank's SavingsLink Account, which is currently paying 5.3% on balances greater than $10,000. They are also offering 5.5% rate on 3 and 6-month CD's. Link. Some people speculate that Countrywide might fold because of their credit problems, but as long as you keep under $100,000 there, your money is insured by FDIC.

Sorry to pile on, but effective 12/13/07 the yield was set to 4.10%.

I'm not sure why, but ING Direct's checking account pays considerably more than their savings account on balances of 50K, or more. The yield is 4.65 on balances of 50K-99,999, and 4.8 on 100K+.

After I responded to the poster... I wonder if he meant "now" the yield is 4.10% (instead of "not").

They probably want people to make them their sole checking account. I'm sure after they have a critical mass of customers, they'll drop the hammer.

Emigrant's rate drop was only a matter of time. It is still better than 4.50%

That shouldn't be legal. It's discrimination. I guess it's no worse than Bank of America giving credit cards and accounts to people who are illegally here. Right now our country is upside down and the rule of law doesn't seem to mean anything anymore especially to the big corporations.

Actually, you don't have to speak Spanish to earn 5.05% APY. BancoFortuna has an English site offering the same rate.
