Default What do you think of my stock picks?

HMSY - Healthcare stock
NTDOY - Nintendo
WMT - Wal-Mart
HRB - H&R Block
BAC - Bank of America
SBUX - Starbucks
MANU - Manugistics Group, Inc.
ABV - Ambev

I just have a few shares for each. Eventually, I plan to invest in the VTSMX index fund. Mostly, I'm doing this just to learn.

I'd drop BoA and Walmart.

It is very rare that I like a large cap stock because it is hard to obtain sizable sustainable sequential growth in the 25%+ range so my opinion may be biased. All I can say is the portfolio is well diversified if that is your goal. Of the stocks listed I like HMSY the most.

As long as invest in what you know. Your picks are going to be fine. Im not a big fan of buying into heavy commercial stocks until they reach a point where you can predict their movements accurately.
It also looks as if you are a long term(6m-2 years) investor. The majority of your choices are going to give you a secure return. I do see some issues with trends that might make some of your picks less stable, and might be better to play them in buy/sell spurts. Im not saying which ones because I dont like to be repsonsible for any bad advise.
