Default Investors, what's your personal rate of return ?

Its has been a pretty good 1st quarter for the stock market, what's your personal rate of return this quarter ?

My 401k (limited selection of Fidelity funds): 12%
My ROTH (very little money): 27%

Wish I had an option to switch to two

I don't know about the past quarter, but over the past 12 months the 401k has had about a 20.9% return. That is great..and will balance out the inevitable low years ahead (as there are sure to be some).

The past several years have not done so well, so things seem to be turning around.

Ima, I thought you invest in the Vanguard 500 index fund. How are you getting a 35% annual return?

Perhaps it's balancing out the low years behind it as well

Stocks are doing about 12% a quarter. Mutuals are what others have posted.

Sorry,i do invest in Index 500 and am getting about 10% I got about 35% in american centrury Heritage last year. It was the very first mutual fund I ever opened. American Century use to allow people to open a mutual fund with as little as $1, so i started there. (It was called Twentieth Century back in the 80's)

Ima, that seems like a pretty decent fund except their expense ratio is 1%. Although with 35% return I certainly wouldn't mind giving the 1% to the fund managers.

What about the rest of you guys, VJW, CRFSaver, Sweeps, Basell ?

I assume we're talking annualized returns here? I'm in the same ballpark as everyone else. However, I'm holding a lot of cash now with the plan to buy a new house soon.

On a side note, the stock market is getting punished today. I bet those 2nd quarter returns won't be nearly as good as the 1st quarter's...

Yes,I don't like the high expense ratio for American Century, but you have to remember that i had no money when I opened the fund, and they let me open it for $50. I have put in $6400 and it was worth $34.000 today.
