How long does it take to open an IRA?

I just went through the process a few days ago(online application), and I still haven't heard anything back. Just thought I would see if anyone else has had this problem. Thanks.

Depending on the company, it might take 2 or 3 business days, more if you have to receive materials by snail mail.

The company is USAA.

if it is a local bank, maybe 20 minutes... at vanguard it takes about 5 minutes if the isp is working and their website is okay.

I have only opened IRA's by mail. Computers are new to me!

It took me a few minutes to open my account but I actually called my bak to set it up
