How well do you know your prices???

I think I know them pretty well. That's why I spend most of my budgeted grocery $ @ Aldi's. Other than meat & some items I still find Aldi's cheaper the majority of the time.

It killed me they opened a Sentry up kitty corner to the Aldi's. I totally LMAO when I thought I'd grab a pk of soda for company ok their store brand was $1.50 more than Aldi's & more than a $1 over Wally worlds brand as well !!!

It is amazing how different stores can have such a variety of prices! I have certain items memorized or know at least how low the price can go. It really helps when I am at the store to know what is a legitimately good price and what isn't.

lol, i know most prices pretty well. most of the time i shop for a specific price eg: if im buying tinned tomatoes, i know i won't pay more than $1 a can. so i look at all the ones that are under $1 and pick those. so that is how i do a lot of shopping.
other products that i buy of a particular brand, i know the prices pretty well. i know that the hot chocolate powder we buy went up 40c in the past year, from $3.89 to $4.29 for 375g.

Yeah, I know the prices on everything we regularly buy--from tinned tomatoes to TP to crackers and coffee and especially meat. Shelby--if you've got a Sentry grocery by you, you must live close to me. But I hate the mostly one grocery (Pick n Save) domination of our market.

I don't know a thing about prices..honestly if I were the main shopper I would have to have a price book for even the basics like milk.

Fortunately my husband with the amazing memory can handle stuff like that, and he does.

Every once in awhile I ask him if we are still getting a good price on milk, and at first he always says yes, then after the next trip he fills me in on all the numbers, which go in one ear and out the other. Anyway, if you haven't got the memory of Cam Jansen I think a price book is a wonderful idea. (made slowly, no need to be instant price queen over night)

My spouse and I have pretty photographic memories. But I never shop so I wouldn't have a clue. My spouse does all the shopping and it's definitely easy for him to remember the prices at most stores. IT can make a big difference. If you don't have the memory, that is what price books are for! (& probably a little bit more reliable than memory, anyway).

Ironically, most of the best sales prices are at our "high end" grocery store. Few understand this because they don't shop around, or rely on "appearances." You should have seen the organic, local fruit we got for pennies this summer. Best fruit we have ever eaten! Cheapest too. But some items we only buy at Target or Walgreens - you just can't beat the prices.

That's pretty much how we are, too. My wife isn't clueless. She has a pretty good handle on things but I'm the one who remembers the specifics to the penny of how much things are.

I really try to check all the prices and I get SO bummed when I see a lower price right after I bought a product! My goal now is to get things cheaper than the dollar store. If I can find it cheaper than that, I feel good.
