Default Saving Money on Groceries without Stocking up

I know all the coupon gurus out there on the Internet say that one formula to saving lots of money on groceries is to use coupons on items at their lowest sales price and buy a lot of them. And they say don't buy what you need but but stuff that you can stock up on.

While I can see how that would work, my problem is this, we live in an apartment so buying huge amounts of cereal or soup or anything else non perishable just isn't going to work for us. I bought about 4 boxes of cereal using this method and saved a lot but the cabinate we keep it in ran out of space and now we've got all these cereal boxes on the kitchen countes

Wonder how to come to happy medium making this system work without having to rent a storage unit to keep our groceries in?

This is probably going to sound odd, but do you have space under your bed? In a closet? Stockpiling things probably is the best way to ensure you are getting the best price on things, but you may have to find some creative ways to store the items.

Even if you can't stockpile, shopping the sales, using coupons, and buying generic can all help lower the amount spent on groceries.
