Default Wow! I out did the government "thrifty" meal plan!

I was just looking at the government's most current "thrifty" food plan, and I out did it!

The current(Nov 2006) Offical USDA Thrifty food plan for my family:
DH $34.60
DS $32.40
DD $31.00
DD $25.60
Me $31.20
Total=$154.80 per week

Our total average for the same month: $75.26 per week! Wow! I'd really like to know where they come up with these numbers. For one thing, they have my 15 year old son eating less than my me husband....yeah right! DS eats wayyyyyyyy more than DH. They also have my 13 year old daughter eating less than me. No way! Of course teens are going to eat more than adults. I can't EVEN imagine a family that follows the moderate or liberal plans!

Look for yourselves.

lol... i looked up the thrity plan and we beat it by a mile...of course, we are young, broke and lucky (very) enough to get food assistance from our parents... if we had support to ourselves without help i think it would add at least another $50 a month to our budget ... of course, even with that we'd still be beating the thrifty plan... =D
