Do you still send cards?
Do you still send cards for events or have you moved to electronic greetings? I still feel it is more proper to send birthday and holiday greeting cards through regular mail instead of ecards. Am I just behind the times?

Re: Do you still send cards?
I send real cards to people I really care about - the ones I'm sure won't chuck it straight into the garbage immediately after opening it. Other people get e-cards. I love getting real mail from real people. I think I appreciate it a lot more now because it is so rare.

Re: Do you still send cards?
I send really funny e-cards that they would want to keep for at least a week.

Re: Do you still send cards?
I do both. For Birthdays I tend to send cards by snail mail, but at Christmas and other holidays I send e-cards to those who use email and regular cards to those who don't. We still have some family members and friends who never use a computer, if you can imagine that! :-)

Re: Do you still send cards?
Seeing as they now cost over £2 each I tend not to bother.

Re: Do you still send cards?
Err if I remembered they were havining a birthday I would send a car, but I never do, lucky if anyone gets a call in the same week (and VERY lucky if the birthday is mentioned!)
I know that is terrible, something I am working on.
Oh but if I were to send a card, I have kids, they make them Cheap and means a lot to the relatives.

Re: Do you still send cards?
I really want to stop. What is the point of sending Christmas cards to people you don't even interact with over the course of the year! Birthday cards are a horse of a different color and I usually send them or hand them to immediate family members and very close friends. It can get very expensive after a while!!

Re: Do you still send cards?
Hubby and I usually make our own cards and send them out to his family. Aside from that, we're not quite into the mass card mailings

Rarely. I never seem to remember in time. But for my international friends we do a birthday phone call to keep in touch and a christmas card.

Re: Do you still send cards?
I enjoy writing letters and sending cards, not just for birthdays and holidays! My friends and I all enjoy sending and receiving mail. It's nice to get a surprise in the mailbox instead of just staying in touch by emails.

We always send Birthday and Christmas cards. Thankfully, hubby no longer insists on a letter with each Christmas card!

I do e-cards for those who are online. I also send out about 20 real cards.

I send cards, especially to elderly people. E-cards go to everyone else.

Good point. My older relatives don't care much for e-cards. Especially the ones who don't have email.

Re: Do you still send cards?
I send out Christmas cards to immediate and extended family, and give birthday cards to close family. Close friends get the same. Last year we did photo postcards, which came out great (we combined the baby's birth announcement with a holiday greeting). They were cheaper to buy and a lot cheaper to send.

I don't think you are behind the times. I also still send cards out through the mail. E-cards are so impersonal sometimes. Once in a while, fine. All the time, Not for me.

Re: Do you still send cards?
I'm usually doing pretty good to remember to get an e-card sent out. For birtdhay's of family members or close friends, I make sure to give them a call. To me at least, I much prefer a phone call rather than a card or even a letter because in a phone call you can interact with that person and say a whole lot more in a lot faster time than when writing a letter (even if I type it at 55 WPM, I still can talk faster.)
