What's the most expensive xmas gift you bought
What's th most expensive Xmas gift you bought this (or any) year? I spent $75 on one gift this year. The most expensive was probably $500 - a watch that DH had wanted a VERY long time.

Re: What's the most expensive xmas gift you bought
Last year I bought the kids the big barbie jeep I know thats the most I have ever spent it was about $150 after coupons & rebates & I got a free gc with purchase I couldnt pass it up. My youngest was 11 months old so I know it will get played with for along time!!!
I am pretty cheap so usually the kids only get gifts that I can get for under $20 heck I would say alot of gifts are under $10 & Usually they are not toys they are like blankets & pjs things they will use not just play with they hardly play with their toys as it is so I figure why bother buying more I mean they get a few but I try to buy them more useful things for xmas

...$200 on a gold chain for my (now ex) husband??....
Other than that....$40 on a slide for my daughter...Our last Xmasses have been very lean though, so no more than $10/gift and only DD gets more than 1 present...

$150 DVD/VCR combo, but I used gift certificates that I got for free so I'm not sure it counts.

Re: What's the most expensive xmas gift you bought
an airline ticket this year for my mom to go visit my sister in Holland in November. My sis could use the cheering up. Actually it was a combination christmas and birthday since her birthday is 5 days after christmas. And if I count my sister, her husband and their three kids it is actually a gift for 6 people. So maybe it was not as bad as I thought. oh yeah, I am sending gifts for them too...maybe it is more than i thought. And something small to open on her birthday and christmas.

I bought my wife a pair of Diamond Solataire earrings a couple of years ago, if I remember correctly, the cost was something like $1000.

Re: What's the most expensive xmas gift you bought
I spent $600 for a plane ticket and passport update for my DW at Christmas a couple of years ago to visit her sister studying in London. While she was gone I built a wall in my basement and cut the wide open space into two rooms. I figure the $600 was a well spent investment considering she wasn't here to act as foreman while I was using tools and lumber in the basement.

My boyfriend and I took a 5 day skiing vacation to Stowe, VT. Lift tickets and hotel and gas and dinner out adds up! That was our present to eachother.

Re: What's the most expensive xmas gift you bought
Three years ago I bought ds (then 8) a hockey jersey that cost $105.00...a ridiculous amount to spend on an eight year old for one item of clothing, but he LOVED it and still wears it...I bought it big (partly for style, mostly so we could get some use out of it). Ds5 will happily inherit it as a hand me down.

Re: What's the most expensive xmas gift you bought
DH and I agreed to buy each other a trip to Vegas this year for Christmas instead of gifts. Total cost was about $750, so I guess that would mean I spent about $375 on him.
