My house is on a hill that kids don't like to walk up, so instead of waiting all night for just a few stragglers, i stopped giving out candy at halloween.

i buy a big bag from the grocery store that has all the old candy from when i grew up. Pixie sticks, sweet tarts etc. It is a large bag and when Halloween is over I take the left overs, (there always are) to my sisters house.

I always like getting chips, the kids are allowed them. Rings would be cool, but honestly the junk food is cheaper, and we know exactly what to do with the leftovers .

We buy a big bag of mini-candy bars at Costco. Usually give 2 or 3 to each kid and then give more or less as the night goes on.

I usually get a big bag of assorted hard candy and candy corn. My husband and son don't like either of those, so I don't have to worry about them getting into the Halloween candy.

We live in a rural area, so we only get 2-3 neighbors. So we buy the BIG candy bars!!! Usually a 6 or 8 pack, so there are some left over

the last few years we've gotten almost no trick or treaters ar all, so we get a small bag of lollipops or candy. i'd rather avoid the temptation of having too much leftover

I usually wait until a couple of days before to buy the treats as they are not eaten by my goblins in the house.
