Default 5 thoughts about money

Here are five recent thoughts I've had about money:

I want an ipod, but I don't NEED an ipod

High gas prices may have a positive effect for the environment

Avoiding the snack section at the grocery store is a financially sound move

Homemade meals are not only less expensive, they usually taste a lot better

This year's Halloween costume - keep it simple

Any thoughts about money that have popped into your head?

Costco's Protein powder is more economical (protein gram for gram) than cottage cheese, or any other protein source I've come across.

(I'm serious about this one).

Didnt know Costco made their own brand protein powder..

I take in, 1 serving a day of Heavyweight 900 by Champion nutrition its at $30 for 20 servings..

and take in 2 servings a day of Myoplex sport which is $38 for 20..

so with those 2 protein shakes (3 servings a day) i blow through $106 in 20 days.. $159 a month.

so cheaper protein definetly something on my mind.

that is 101 grams of protein right there.

1. I agree that higher gases prices will have a positive effect on the enviroment.
2. Other thoughts are we need money but dont let it control you & dont ever let having too much of it go to your head in other words never forget your roots.
3. Dont let money come between you & someone you love I know too many people who have quit speaking to close family over money issues this includes my own family.
4. As for foods I believe eating at home is healthier than eating out & also costs alot less.

It's not a costco brand, just haven't seen it available anywhere but costco. I get 90 servings (I think it's a 5 lb. tub) of whey protein. Each serving has 22 g of protein. Chocolate tastes pretty darn good. The 90 servings cost $22. Myoplex is priced for the name and nothing else IMO.

Tonight when I get home I'll check what the brand of the protein is. I've used it for a couple years with good success.

Not for me. A trip to the snack section can keep me out of an over priced restaurant.

- Teaching kids the difference between need and want is VERY important. Mine are pretty young and I hear lots of times "I need dat toy" (young enough the 'th' is hard to make)

"No you don't need it you want it, and DS give your sister back her toy."

Knowing the difference between needs and wants is extremely important.

I love meals at home with family and friends. Home made Halloween costumes are fun and economical. It is a ton of fun to make up your own costume. I'll be doing it again for a Halloween costume party I am attending!

The best day from a money perspective for me was walking into Target and not worrying how much I had in my checking account to pay for cleaning supplies...
