I can remember when we use to take a whole day off to go to the mall. (it is a two hour drive away, one way) The whole idea was to take a day off to go and buy stuff!! When, I didn't buy anything, my husband would almost get upset. It was a fun thing to do.
Now, i don't like to go shopping. I was buying things I really did not need. I much more enjoy going to the bank once or twice a month and adding money to our money market account.
I love watching that interest build up, day by day.

A person who feels good when they save will see money very differently to a person who finds saving a nuisance or almost impossible.

This is because we each have a "Financial Personality".

Our attitude to spending gives a hint about our "Financial Personality".

Financial failure is guaranteed when we try to budget in a way that does not suit our personality.

Financial success is guaranteed when you budget in a way that fits with our personality.

When we first started telling people about this there was some scepticism.

Now that tens of thousands of people have taken the "Personality Budgeting Quiz" and proved that they can be budget succesfully if they do so in a way that suits them.

The bottom line is this... If you have had difficulties saving in the past, you can now succeed when you do itt in a way that suits your "Financial Personality".

I really enjoy saving money. I like to put money away each day in my cash box and then take it to the bank about once a month. I love the fact that I have not had to touch my savings for anything at all this year. The $20 challenge has been a big help in my saving money!!

I love saving money. It is like a game for me. I thrive on the adrenaline rush fueled by my math skills which I am constantly using to compete against merchants who try to sell to me.

However, I hate it when others know I am saving money. It seems that everytime we save enough money to buy a house, someone comes into our lives and spins a heartbreaking story of personal disaster. I am tired of always be the nice preson, so I love saving money secretly and not let anyone know (except you guys, of course )

It feels good to see some high figures in your bank account. I think I enjoy getting the money more in the first place.

I love it - but I may be getting a little carried away! Yesterday I opened my fourth savings account. I have a small one at my local Credit Union, ING, HSBC and I just started a money market account at TD Ameritrade. HSBC is my main account but I like to spread out the rest. I love interest!

I love saving money, always have. I just wish my wife enjoyed it half as much as I do =)

It can add up really quickly if you have automatic savings. Right now we have 2 401ks, a roth and a 529 all automatically contributed to. After a few years you have a nice chunk of cash saved.

Steve, I know what you mean. I just opened up a new c.d. I try and have 6 figures in everybank in town. So far, I have 3 accounts and we only have 4 banks.
I love the fact that I am making more interest in six months, then I ever earned in one year.

I love having money saved. Don't necessarily love saving money.

I try to find ways to pay for unexpected things without having to take it out of savings. I managed to buy the riding mower last month with a bonus that my husband got from a customer.

I love the physical act of paying myself first on payday: emergency fund, Roth kitty, moveout fund, car fund, vacation fund, click, click, click.

I'll tell you what I really like. Last night my wife and I paid all bills for the month. And had a good amount left over.

That felt good. Is that saving? Well, yeah....I could have run right out and bought some books or something but I didn't.

I love saving money.

Personally, I hate saving money. It would be nice to have the largest house, nicest car, best food without even thinking about what it costs.

I do like savings. I like the comfort of having that extra money on hand if I ever need it. I love spending even more, but I do my best to keep my spending in check.

When I first learned about mutual funds, I opened way too many different accounts. It was easy then because the minimums were so low. You could open an account at American Century (then it was called Twentieth century) for any amount, even $5.
I have closed some of them, but I still have too many.

We don't use ING, but use a credit union the same way. We have a Christmas Club account, a regular savings account, and a vacation account. It's nice seeing the balances rise and knowing the money is earmarked for a specific purpose.

Last Night I felt like having a celebration. My son told me how he has started saving!!!

Most people wouldn't think that was much of a milestone.... but this is a first for 26 year old son. He's finally found a motivation to save.

The good part about this is that he's turned saving into an automatic exercise. His financial personality type would never be able to save if they didn't put it on automatic.

Wow, that is great. I talk to every young person I meet about saving. I was trying to convince a waitress to just save $2 a day and put it away. She is only 18 so she could be rich if she would do that.
She says she spend $7 a day on cigarettes and cold drinks!
