Default Titanium of Gold

Hello everybody.
I recently decided to ask my girlfriend to merry me but to tell you the truth I really don't know where to begin. What is the best material: titanium or gold ? Which one do you think its appropriate ? Thank you.

Why don't you simply ask her? If it is a surprise, bring it up in another way to find out which she prefers. Or look at the jewelry she currently wears. That should be a good indication of what she likes.

I agre, hint around or straight out ask her what metal she prefers. After all she's supposed to wear this for the rest of her natural life (maybe beyond-depending....) so it would be good to get her EXACTLY what she wants (that you can afford) now.

DH asked me before we got engaged, I wear both, but I wanted our wedding bands to match, he only wears silver, so thats what I wanted. Actually mine is a combination. but all the rest of my stuff is silver. (color wise, mix materialwise).

The way you ask will be more important IMO. I still remember the exact phrase DH used .

You can also use skin tone as a useful indicator. I think lighter tones tend to suit titanium better, whilst darker tones perhaps suit gold better.

My wife's is white gold. My band is platinum. I'm surprised she hasn't drop "obvious" clues yet!?

maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think you can get titanium in a ring. It would just feel too light and cheap. I think you really mean platinum or white gold. But ask your her too.

I think platinum is the 'in' thing, if there is sort of thing in wedding rings. Look at what she normally wears. If she wears more silver than gold, go with either platinum or white gold. If she wears more gold (yellow gold, that is) then look in that direction.

If it doesn't need to be a surprise, then just ask her. Most women have a pretty good idea of what they'd like in an engagement ring/wedding band. In fact, there's the whole issue of solitaire versus more of a 'fashion' ring that will eventually nestle in with the wedding 'band'.

Or ask a friend of her to go with you "ring shopping" Ladies will usually chat about what type of ring that they would like.

Congratulations!!

Then its definitively titanium
Both of us have very light tones and I think you are right. Thanks for the advice.

I think you should take her to the mall and walk around. When you get to the jewelry store tell her a cousin is getting married. Walk into the store and have her look around. See what her taste is, or if you like and she finds one you can ask her if she would wear it with a grin.

I am not much o fa liar and she would smell me immediately
I chose the online shopping because it is much cheaper and this way ... I could trick her into viewing some pages "by accident" on our home computer.
What do you think about the ring I posted before?
BTW: How much should I spend for a ring and avoid the cheap adjective ... ?
