Default Financial tv shows

Which financial tv shows or news channels do you watch? Is television an important source of financial information?

I was in love with CNNfn and I was really sad to see it go. I wish they would bring it back. Other than that, I watch Suze Orman religiously - her show, not her PBS specials, The Dolans. I Tivo them so I don't miss them. I have never been able to get into bloomberg TV

I listen to clark howard and dave ramsey via the internet alternating days.

I only have basic cable, so don't catch too many financial TV shows. I used to listen to Ken and Daria Dolan on the radio all the time, for years, but they changed their time slot to evenings, i think, and i just lost the habit of tuning in at their new time.

been hearing a lot about dave ramsey and would like to find out more, esp. if he's on the internet, which is where i get 90% of mynews these days...

I don't watch too many financial show because I won't pay $30-$50 a month for cable/satellite television. I do watch Nightly Business Report on PBS daily (it is probably the only television I watch). I do listen to Making Money with Doug Fabian over the internet, lots of interesting investing strategies.

I listen to as many financial show on the radio as I can. One locally in Boston is the Money Experts-good common sense advise.

I also listen to Bob Brinker . I used to listen to the Dolan when they were available here but I can't find them on the radio anymore.

When I sat on a trading desk CNBC was the default while occasionally Bloomberg TV. Usually CNBC as Bloomberg TV will stream through the Bloomberg Professional Ap. He is the biggest @ss in the world but I Jim Cramer comes out with some great individual equity picks.

I try and try and try to watch Jim Cramer, but I can't. I'm sure there is some excellent advice there but I can't do it.

I watch the Suze Orman show on Saturday nights when I get home from work. She's cheesy (she calls male callers "Big Boy") but I learn new things and get mental reinforcement for what I already know.

This month, Washington Post reporter Michelle Singletary started a show on the TV One network (I get it through my and my roomates' satellite dish, DirecTV) called "Singletary Says". It's a 30 minute show that helps two couples per show evaluate their finances. She has a chat on www.washingtonpost.com every two weeks.

I caught him on mute with closed captioning at a coffee shop. It eliminates the weird tribal booyas and the decent advice shines through. Of course then you wonder why he's pitching the chairs...

I love Michelle Singletary. She's syndicated on a number of newspapers and she's on NPR show Day to Day for a few minutes on Tuesdays.

In the Boston area, she is on CNBC on Saturday nights two shows 8-9pm and 9-10pm. They are repeated again at 11-midnight and midnight-1am. Check the CNBC website for you local times.

One of the programs I watch is ‘WEALTHTRACK’ hosted by Consuelo Mack. She is the only host of an investment program I’ve seen who is in touch with reality and admitted the stock market is down by 15% over the last five years, instead of shoveling happy talk driven primarily by brokerage houses trying to persuade people to purchase stocks so they can earn commissions, which is mostly what I’ve seen elsewhere.

I didn't know that kind of show was on television. We don't own one (have a VHS player and a DVD player but no TV per se) so we can't watch. My DH has mentioned a radio show he listens to and has made suggestions from. I think it is Larry Burkett's show.

When I was vacationing in Vancouver, I found a show called "Maxed Out" in which a financial planner would find someone in need of a financial makeover and talk turkey about her finances. The FP would delineate a strategy and the maxed out person would expose her feelings, fears, and hopes as she either attempted or avoided the strategy.

I wonder if there's such a show in the United States. Is it on a cable channel? Certainly with foreclosures and people getting over bankruptcies there would be enough content to keep a show going for 20 years...
