1) Bring a picnic to the park or beach.
2) Cook for her. 3) Go canoeing on a local lake (cheap here in MN -- not so sure about the UK )4) If you're very adventurous (or it's a longer-lasting relationship) take a toddler to the playground (niece or nephew or friend's kid if you don't have one of your own.) Perform well here and you'll get LOTS of points BTW ![]() 5) Play tennis at a local park (free here, again not sure about UK) |

An idea for a special night "out" for a longer lasting relationship, rent one of her favorite chick flicks, get two better quality TV dinners (put them on plates or possibly take-out) and a fancy dessert from the supermarket, and sit down and actually watch the movie with her (falling asleep in the middle doesn't count). You do the dishes and put the food away.

Personally I like the idea of candles, maybe some fondue and a chick flick... or perhaps some chocolate to dip strawberries into while sipping champagne... whoops
Sun setting on the Thames, a warm summer night, soft tunes playing, a little wine, cheese and fresh bread ... Kidnap her for a day to be a tourist in your own town, or area. As I remember there were lots of free attractions to visit. Perhaps create a tasting afterward of something she especially likes. After an esp. stressful day greet her at the door with a rose or something similar. have a tub ready to be climbed into... and offer to wash her hair. |

I always loved the simple picnic on the beach, complete with wine and favourite cd's in the portable player, watching the sundowners. Lovely!

Make sure she likes chick flicks before you rent! (I don't)
Play games, with or without others. (I love games) |

A game night- board games, poker etc is always entertaining and inexpensive.

All of these are great ideas, and proof that you don't need an expensive budget to make an impression on a date.
I love the idea of a picnic, good crusty bread, a bottle of wine and perhaps a tasty hummus spread, fruit and cheese, and the good company you're with. What more could you want? It's really the thoughtfulness that counts, not the money spent.
