How many times a month do you eat out?
How large is your family, where do you go, and when are you most likely to eat out? For me (I am single) i eat out maybe 3 times a month, with my boyfriend, on the weekend, either breakfast, lunch or dinner. But more often than not, we eat at home and cook on the grill. Other than that, I may eat out just once every other month or so with a girlfriend, usually dinner on a Friday night at a local Italian or Chinese place. Very occasionally, if i'm out and about running errands or shopping, i may stop for lunch at Boston Market, the only fast food place i go usually. |

we eat out frequently, probably at least 5 times a month. something we could definitely cut down on. We usually drink water. But we usually order in or eat out only when it is the two of us. taking 4 kids is a definite shocker when the bill comes! When we take the kids we try to go somewhere that lets kids eat free.

These days the wife and I eat out probably once a week. Which is an amazing cut back, this time last year the wife and I were both so busy at work, we were eating out virtually everyday! At the beginning of this year when I started to calculate our average monthly food bill, I decided it just was not worth the convenience, and we eat at home practically every day now. I'm much happier for it.

We eat out about once or twice a month, less when not pregnant.
There are four of us, and we tend to eat fast food/'medium food after a drs apointment, or after a trip to the ILS. This month the total will be way off, we are going to do some eating out in pgh .I used to be one of those never eat fast food, but now, it is almost always an oops that we eat out at ll, so if I had tiome to stop for a 'real dinner' I had time to go home and cook it for a fraction of the cost. (and unfortunatly cost is all that matters now .) |

We dine out probably 8 times a month. Dinner every friday and lunch every saturday. And we almost always go for fast food. To sit down at a restaurant would be too expensive. We would like to cut that in half, but it is hard to break our habit. This expensive luxury probably costs us about $1500 per year

Eating out can be cheap! We go to places that are reasonable. My favorite is Tequilas, and I always order this appetizer of nachos that I adore. They serve chips and salsa free. I don't like salsa but hubby does. This is where we take the kids if we take them somewhere. Try to order a meal and an appetizer and split the meal. Order only one soda if you order soda and the other water. When I used to drink soda I ordered the coke, he ordered the water and then he would help me drink mine. Now, we just drink water. that is a huge savings in itself! Try to have a coupon for the restaurant you eat at. And if we do eat at a more expensive place that is going to cost $30 or more to eat I make sure I take the left overs. cut up steak is fabulous with frozen veggies for lunch the next day! Save the pricey restaurants for like 1 a month tops.

Last month I hit an all time high. I ate out at least one meal every single day. Normally I'm not that bad, but I was just busy, stressed and everything else. I'm single, its just me. No boyfriend or anything like that so I have no reason to go home and cook, except for me, and I know that should be enough. I vow to do better this month! NO eating out.
My schedule is such that I usually leave my home around 5 am and return around 12 am so I have even managed to tell myself that I don't have time to cook, but I'm going to find the time. |

we eat out like every day. too much. but honestly, like I said before, when you can go to the Casino and get a good meal for two people for just under 10 bucks. you can't beat it!

We eat out 2 to 3 times a month, maybe a little more if we get really busy. We don't go to fancy restaurants, but also try to avoid fast food. We go to your basic family restaurant whenwe do go out. We also may order a pizza delivered once a month or so.

It's me and my SO - depending on how lazy we get (not in cooking, but in going food shopping) is what makes or breaks us. I'd say once a week, maybe. We did better recently and rarely ate out at all until last week (again, lack of groceries). We saw the totals from that week's spending and SO went shopping! Now we have food and won't go out to eat.

It's just my dh and I ...we eat fast food about once a week and eat at a sit down restaurant about once every other month...occasionally once a month, but we don't have much money in our budget for eating out.
