How to Save the Environment With No $

I thank Bruce for bringing the subject of $$ and the environment up. Here are a few ways to save the environment WITHOUT spendign a penny.

1. Bring your own canvas type bags to supermarket instead of clogging up landfills with plastic bags or causing more trees to be cut down with paper bags.

2. Reigster (free) on a site like Natural Resource Defense Council, a group made up of attorneys who fight the good fight, to protect the environment. When you sign up, you receive periodic emails about various issues being discussed in Congress and you can easily email your senator/congressperson to weigh in with your opinion, thereby influencing them to vote the way they should.

3. Frequent sites like freecycle.org where you can take or get rid of unwanted items...for free!

4. Plant an organic garden.

Use cloth rags and napkins in place of paper towels and napkins. Toss them in the wash with your regular wash - no extra loads to do.
