Since my current home is worth more than I thought it was, another option I have is to sell it, and buy another (downsizing) with no mortgage, and sock what would be a house payment into savings. I have looked at a couple of houses that I could pay cash for, that are of good size, but are in the "wrong part" of town. Then I got an email advertising a list of forclosures for a set monthly fee. I thought at one time there was a website where you could get such listings for free. Does anyone know of such a site? The list I got in my email was just enough to tease me-4 bedroom 2.5 bath, in the zipcode I am wanting to move to, on 5 acres.

You can also check out HUD.Gov which is the department of housing and urban developement. Also call your local banks and see if they have any REO (Real Estate Owned). They may have a list of homes they have foreclosed on and want to get rid of. Or they may just refer you to a broker they use.
