Default Home office tax deduction

Can I get tax deduction if I have a home office which is used strictly for work via telework agreement? I spent a deal of money getting that room up to be office like.

Yes. I don't know all the details, but I believe you can write off as business expenses a portion of your mortgage/rent, utilities, and related costs as a proportion of your total square footage -- as in, a 180 sq.ft. office in a 1800 sq.ft. home = 10% of costs are tax deductible. Additionally, equipment purchased for your business (computer, desk, etc.) can be deductible. Theres more to it than that, and I expect it's slightly different since you do it as an employee (not self-employed), but you should definitely do some research into it and talk to a tax expert.
