Default Have you turned on your heat, yet?

The temps have been dropping into the 40's at night and the highs have been in the 50's (today we are supposed to get up to 54). Yesterday, the temp dropped to 65 in the house ( I thought it was freezing! ) It's 60 now--so, I am thinking about turning the heat on. (I am wearing a tee shirt/sweat shirt and a fleece) It's supposed to warm up for the rest of the week (66-74 highs). I hate to whimp out so early in the seaon.

Haven't done it but I've seriously considered it. We have tile floors throughout our whole house and it makes it difficult to wait too long becuase it really takes a toll on your feet/ankles and cools down the house even quicker.

To cope, I currently am keeping a comforter on the couch and I've moved my bathroom rugs into the common areas (kitchen, living room, etc). We've also been wearing slippers or shoes to avoid direct contact with the tile. It's been around 60 in our house all week but has dropped to the high 50s a few early mornings.

Here in Georgia we've had a few nights in the 40s recently, but it's supposed to warm up again starting today. I typically will ride out a couple cold nights early in the season before turning on the heat. I'd say I usually take the plunge when the overnight temps begin to consistently stay in the 40s (or lower) and the daytime highs are in the 60s or lower. (FYI, it's gorgeous outside right now, sunny and 69 degrees!)

We had it on a couple of time in September and consistently since about September 24.

We live in north central Indiana....and I loathe cold weather.

We have a couple of times. My wife can't stand the cold so if the house drops below about 70, she wants the heat on. I usually set it at 69 at night. Then in the AM, I switch it back to AC since it is still warm during the day.

House is around 65F today and I don't think I'll turn on the heater till it gets a few degrees cooler. It's supposed to warm up later this week so I don't anticipate I'll need the heater for a while yet.

Hasn't dropped below the 70's here yet, of which I'm more than appreciative. My apartment has zero insulation (apparently that particular innovation hasn't made it to Japan), so weather extremes (whether in summer or winter) are terribly uncomfortable, and very expensive to mitigate.

Paying the bills is better than listening to my wife complain.

Ha. I had to use a second blanket last night, because I was just freezing. Down to 40s and lower 50s here. I refuse to spend more money by turning on the heat YET, since having had so high of air conditioning bills this summer.

If by heat you mean woodstove then no. House stays around 65F avg with no heat on with this kind of weather. Supposed to dip into the 40s/30s towards the end of the week so they're may be smoke coming out the chimney lol.

No. We love the cold! It hasn't been bitter cold in the house.

I'm surprised we haven't run the furnace yet, our weather is unseasonably warm. Most years we've already had our 1st snowfall! I've readied the down quilts, fluffed and in their duvet covers but not yet used. It's still dark and cool in the early AM, so pulling on a cuddly robe while I run down to put on coffee and bring in the paper. Might pull on a sweater or fleece for an hour.

Not yet. We've only had a couple nights where it got really chilly. The Kerosene heater has been more than enough to take the chill off so far.

We haven't ran it here yet. In the morning it reads 65 degrees, so I will see how long we can hold off, hoping until November 1. Haha. We are getting it serviced next week though as it will eventually be on!

No heat in Seattle yet! Plenty of rain to kick off the fall festivities though
