Default Never Received A Bill

So this summer the city dug up the curb along my street and in the process chopped off the end of one of my sprinkler heads. Of course they wont pay for it the explanation I got was that is my risk for having it there. So I call a local irrigation company and they give me a quote that is decent so they come out and fix it for me. While the workers are there I told them if they have time to turn on all the sprinklers throughout the yard and if they find any broken ones to replace them. So I come home that night and a couple of them which they fixed including the one I originally called them about didnt work right. I called them back and said please come fix it and they did the next day. Found out the original one the city broke still didnt work right so I did my research and fixed it myself with a $0.50 part from Menards and didnt bother to call the company again.

Well the summer is about over and this work was done like 3 months ago and I have not received a bill in the mail. Do I call the company and ask about it or keep my mouth shut and hope they forgot about me? I did receive a letter in the mail from them asking if I want them to winterize my sprinkler system, but I do that myself so I wont be calling. I also had the company come out 2 years ago to look at a broken valve which they never could get working. I did pay them for that incident after I got the bill. The total amount for this summer should be less than $100 so I dunno if i should worry about it or not.

I would clear it up. You don't want to get a notice from some collection agency 6 months from now for failing to pay the bill you never received. It could have gotten lost in the mail and they just think you've ignored it. If you know you owe money, call and arrange to pay it. Make sure you get a receipt for the payment.

I would also let them know you have not received the bill. It's the right thing to do. They may be able to take payment over the phone. They likely just have bad bookkeeping.

I would agree with all of the above, as it would be the right thing to do. Sometimes the right thing can save you a few bucks in the future. I once had a company come down to do some repairs in my house, after they left I realized the guy gave me $100 as change instead of the $10 he owed me. I called them up, they thanked me profusely, and the next time I needed their services the guy remembered me and gave me half off. I'm not saying that is the reason to let them know but you never know when doing the right thing will come in handy.

I've had clients remind me to send them a bill. I am greatful for their honesty. When I am making a cash purchase and the clerk does not charge me enough, I let her know. You do it because it is the right thing to do.
