I'm kind of new to this forum so I have a question.

What's this points deal all about?

I notice when I post something, in the upper right hand corner it tells me how many posts I have and then how many points I have.

If someone would please explain the points, I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

The post count is self explainatory.

The points used to be able to be cashed in at the "store" years ago, but I'm not sure now. I think that we can only bank them right now.

Thanks bjl584.

I am assuming that when you say we can only bank them now, that means we just hang on to them until they either open a new "store" or come up with some other way to "cash" them in.

Yes. As far as I know, all that we can do right now is accumulate them.

Good question, I'm still a newbie in posting. Had no idea these points had a purpose in the past.

Hmmm ... makes me think there's no point to it.

Yes, we did have a place where the points could be used to buy things years ago. The problem was that the system was built for the forum and every time we needed to update the forum (improvements, patch exploits, upgrade, etc) the store would break and nate would have to spend days trying to fix it. The trying to constantly fix it ended up being too difficult and the system lapsed (although we never took down the points that could be earned). Not sure what we will do with those in the future...
