Do you save money with your computer?
I know that computers are convenient, but do they save more money than they cost? When you add up the cost of the computer, software, printer, ink, and ISP service computers are quite expensive. Do the savings you get from having a computer justify the costs of it do you think?

Re: Do you save money with your computer?
Not only do I save money, I earn money by having a computer. DivaTribe makes money, and many of my tutoring clients come to me through the inquiry form on my tutoring web site.
As far as saving goes, I do tons of research on things before making purchases that I know I wouldn't do if I had to make phone calls or drive from place to place.
I've printed out many things for myself and DD that I know I would have paid more for had I gone out to buy something similar.
DH makes long distance, including international, calls for free using Skype.

Re: Do you save money with your computer?
I have a part time job that I need my computer for. (I type for a national insurance company) - so yes - my computer saves me money - it actually makes me money.
Plus - I am able to internet surf for good deals, how to save money, etc.

Re: Do you save money with your computer?
While I don't make a lot using my computer per se, I do learn a lot more saving information that I would if I didn't have it. I think that the learning I get from visiting sites like this more than makes up for the cost of having the computer.

Re: Do you save money with your computer?
We've found our computer to be a great tool for comparison shopping, online shopping, freebies, and countless tips on everything from frugal living to investing. It's also great for reading other newspapers in the country. Computers offer endless potential for networking and brainstorming with others who share your interests. Ours has more than paid for itself in usefulness.

Re: Do you save money with your computer?
I save some money on the computer by buying books & such on half.com or ebay. I also ofter buy gifts for family on-line & when I do, I try to buy it used, but in like-new condition.
The information I can collect saves me time & money.
The saving advice I find also saves me money.
Sites like this one helps motivate me to save instead of spend.

Re: Do you save money with your computer?
I make (not enough) money with my computer. But I had to buy it for school anyway (it was required) so I guess the money making is an added benefit of a school requirement.
