I've has the iPhone since August. Loved it at first, but now I dread having to do anything with it. It is slow, freezes up, etc. Yes, I have updated, yes I have reset it. I'm not sure if I just got a bad phone or what, but it drives me crazy. I want my blackberry back!

Zim I am guessing you have the iPhone 3g, and unfortunately that is an outdated phone.

Regardless of what you do, other than purchasing a new phone that isn't outdated, i.e. iPhone 4, HTC and LG both have 4G phones with at&t now. Both are running android 2.2 software.

I have an iPhone 3g. I've had it since February 2010. Other than the very minor issues I've mentioned, I haven't had any problems with it being an "outdated" phone. zim, have you taken your phone into an Apple store to have it checked out? There may be something wrong with it.

Yep, took it in..They had no idea what advice to give (other than trying to sell me a new phone). The other thing that drives me nuts is that the sensitivity on the screen is getting bad so I will be talking and all of a sudden it goes to speakerphone or mute. Oh well, Apple runs the world right now, we just live in it.

LOL Sometimes I accidentally hangup if the phone is too close to my cheek, and thats on an HTC Inspire. Besides 3g vs 4g, I do like blackberrys for work, if strictly email/phone purpose. I admit AT&T is crap in my area, and hate the battery life on iphone/androids, even while changing settings to conserve battery.

Not trying to come off like a jerk, but I am sure in someone's perception I will be.

I hate consumers that complain about battery life, but want the slimmest phone, that offers to most features, and they can run apps, play games, call, text, view FB, the web all at the same time. But cry when in 5-6 hours of use their phone is dead. The days of phone being simple enough to last 3 days on a single charge are long gone.

Some things to look at, if you use your phone alot for work and it dies like that, invest into a powermat or see if your work will purchase one for you. When not using it just throw it on the power mat and let it charge. Companies are coming out with cases that have recharble batteries built in, that work as secondary/external betteries for your phone.

I don't think you are being a jerk at all. You are absolutely right. When I had a plain old flip phone, I would charge it once every 2-3 weeks. I hardly ever make phone calls with my cell so the battery life was no problem. As the phone aged, it needed to be charged more often and that is what always led me to replace my phone, when it had to be charged daily even when not being used.

With my iPhone, I plug it in every night and sometimes need to charge it during the day as well depending on usage. I have a USB charger on my work computer. I have a car charger. And if I'm going to be out for an extended period, I carry a charger with me and I'll plug it in at a restaurant or store or wherever I happen to be. But I don't complain about it. The battery runs down because I'm using the thing a lot. When I don't use it a lot, it doesn't need to be charged that often.

Yea I can use my iPhone all day on a single charge, FB, a poker game I play, text and calls I can get a full day out of a charge.

If I stay on it it is dead from 7am-1pm and needing a charge.

I've always wanted an Iphone. There are tons of apps that Iphone has that android doesn't. Love how clean the Iphone 4 looks and feels. When my contract is about to be up with Tmobile they always get me to sign another 2yr for a new phone. This time I'm just waiting my contract out and changing to ATT or Verizon for the iphone. Maybe the Iphone 5 will be out by then.

I use my phone a lot (iPhone) for work. The battery doesn't bother me at all. It doesn't matter what kind of phone I've had, I have to charge it every day. I just dont like the slowness of the iPhone when i transition from the home screen to a text or a call. I could care less about the apps. I have been reading that the iPhone is being overtaken by android and most new phones will have the android software.

I'm curious why you got an iPhone if you didn't care about the apps. Was it provided by your job? The apps are really the whole point of having an iPhone in my opinion. If not for that, I'd still have a cheap free-after-rebate phone.

People are different in terms of preferences. I think the iPhone is very good in terms of usability and durability too. Pricier of course. The droid however, is more cool. Like you mentioned about viewing capabilities but it has its hang-ups. iPhone for me in my line of work and lifestyle.

iPhones start at $49. Not really that pricey.

You are right, they can be quite reasonable if signing a new contract. Just watch out if you have to replace the iphone, that can be very expensive, especially for the newest model.

If you ever need to replace one, check the resale market as well as refurbs.

Agreed. There is no "perfect" phone. At the end of the day it all comes down to preference.

That reminds of a conservation I had with my co-worker last week on his iphone 4 and my Inspire. He's a developer and admitted to wanting Droid, but loved the fact how simple and user friendly it was. If he ever had to swap phones, or give to his wife for some reason, she'd have no problems using (since she has the same one). My droid was a learning curve compared to previous blackberry and iphones, but I simply prefer over the little hardware changes compared to Apple's simple design. Both types have their pros and cons.

iPhone4 hands down. The retina display is amazing and its a feeling of pride owning an iphone.Galaxy from Samsung is a good one,but some of my friends who bought this phone reported some problems with the antenna and software. And I dont think price difference is signficant.

The main reason I prefer Android to Apple's "iOS" is because Android offers much more in the multitasking department. During the course of my average day, I need to run a variety of apps at the same time--and also the ability to switch between them without closing one app, to get to the other. iOS is absolutely terrible with multitasking. If you want to switch apps, you have to close the app you're using, to get to a different app...very inconvenient!!

Another reason to go with an Android device is that there are TONS OF PHONES to choose from. If you want an iPhone... that phone is your only choice. Android comes on a variety of manufacturer's phones. And all of the phones have different features, sizes, styles, etc.. For example, I much prefer using a physical keyboard to using an onscreen keyboard because I find I can type muuuch faster. But there are no iPhones that offer physical keyboards so if you want a physical keyboard using iOS, you are SOL!
