I had a great bit of luck today
I signed up to participate in a focus group about credit cards for $250 for 2.5 hours. The place is 2 blocks from my job, on the way home and it was right after I got off work, very convenient. So I got there, was told they overbooked the session and they didn't need me! I got paid the $250 anyway. Sweeeeeeet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cool. That would be a nice bonus if you did the group. It is extra nice to get that just for showing up and doing nothing.

That's great!
We do a lot of focus groups, and that is the policy, BUT the people in my city are too flaky, so I would probably faint if I was actually ever turned away.  I have never seen anyone turned away - too many no-shows.
