Default Money Misconceptions

What do you think are the biggest money misconceptions floating around out there?

I keep coming across the misconception that "If I earned more money, I wouldn't have money problems."

In my opinion, if you don't know how to budget a bit and keep your spending under what you make, it doesn't really matter how much you make, you're still going to have money problems.

What are some of the other money misconceptions you see?

"I wish I was lucky enogh to stay home with the kids" I hear that ALL the time. ANd for the most part the dads income is more than my DHs, course the 'stuff' is about quadruple ours, but it ain't luck here it is work.

I agree with you about the lucky enough to stay home with the kids part I know alot of people who work & so does thier spouse & they still have money problems. To me its not how much you earn but how much you spend.

I think the biggest money misconception I see is people who think buying on clearance & using coupons dont save money it does it saves a ton lots of people think its just not worth the hassle.

Plus they are not actually "saving" the money they had saved clipping coupons & clearance because they spend that money anyway. .

Just because you drive a big car and have a fancy house doesn't mean you are financially sound.
