Somebody I know very well just received an invitation to join AARP. Do you get any real money saving benefits by joining?

My father gets all kinds of discounts with his membership. How much is it? I know that he saves several hundred dollars a year with discounts from it...practically everyone has some type of discount for them.

I don't necessarily agree with all their positions, but for getting discounts joining AARP is well worth it.
