I guess it would all depend on the model. You'd also have to compare how much for the pump and how much for a new machine. Is the machine several years old?

No the wash machine is less than 4 years old & its a kenmore well I got a new pump for $10 of course thats much cheaper than buying a new wash machine but my husband thought we should just buy a whole new machine. Now for the dryer it quit working too a few weeks after the wash machine did now today I have to go get a belt for that

$10 for the pump is a bargain. Run the machine till it gives up the ghost.
Machines run $400 and up so I'd say you saved yourself a bundle this week. Replacing the belt will also save you a bundle. Way to go!

I have started a replacement/emergency fund for my appliances. I try to repair everything until I can't get parts anymore or it is just worn out!

I'd have to say that spending $15 dollars instead of over a $1000 makes great sense. Look at all you can do with what you saved!

WAY TO GO!

Ya no kidding & now they are both hooked up & running great & my dh finally seen that washers & dryers are $500 new so he finally agreed with me about fixing them instead of buying new.

Yes I plan to buy new tires soon for my car & if I would have to buy a washer & dryer I wouldnt be able to get new tires & I figure new tires are pretty important!!
