Default Bringing a flask to a game...

Beer is like $8 each... I was going to bring a flask of rum and buy a diet coke and mix...

Do you guys consider brining a flask to a game cheap?

Nope. I consider it sticking it to the man. Many consider it unethical. I consider it unethical to charge $8 for a beer or $4 for a Coke or a box of Junior Mints. We always bring our own snacks to the movies.

I did a lot of this in college. Everyone else(students) did it too. Frankly it should be allowed with today's ticket prices. I really can't see $8 for a freakin' beer. Sort of takes away the flavor. I'd do it in a heartbeat. Screw them, that's what they're trying to do to you.

How about smuggling popcorn into the theater? Talk about contraband!

I've done that. Theater popcorn is lousy and lousy for you. I've brought in a ziploc bag of air-popped stuff from home.

As long as it's not expressly forbidden or illegal, then go for it.

I'd much rather have a mixed drink than a beer anyways.

You just don't want to get caught and get thrown out of the game.

I do the same all the time. They make $4 off the coke mixer anyways so it's a win situation for both.

haha. I was actually just looking for a flask today to bring with me to a college football game in two weeks. They don't serve alcohol in the stadium, but I don't really do it to get drunk. (The 3 hours of tailgating prior takes care of that for me) I do it because it warms you up pretty quickly. Plus they don't sell beer inside this particular stadium.

Wife and I always sneak drinks and snacks into the movies. Harder in the summer but in the winter it's easy with big coats and purses.

I don't do it in restaurants or bars though. That seems unethical to me.

I hope you realize that this is a huge myth. Drinking alcohol actually lowers your body temperature. If you are out at a football game on a cold day, the last thing you want to be doing is drinking alcohol. Coffee or tea or hot chocolate yes, but not alcohol.

I didn't know that. I knew the coffee and tea thing, yes. But I figured the same thing was true for the alcohol since it tends to be calorie dense.

I never said you shouldn't drink.
I just said you shouldn't drink to stay warm because it actually does just the opposite.

I am not a drinker. I might drink 3 drinks a year.
Anyway, I remember being at a Tiger game a few years ago in Detroit. I was standing. A group of young guys were next to me. One had a bottle of cinnamin Schnapps in his pocket. Maglio Ordonez hit a home run to bring us to the World Series for the first time since 1984.

I thought it was in all good fun some young guys could get a buzz and enjoy the game, but my inner self knew it was wrong.

I don't beleive in rampant drinking or bringing booze to games b/c it might encourage people to get drunk and drive.

The beer prices? no one is making you buy any.

This question leads to another question - how is it that you feel you must drink to enjoy the outing? Do you drink for every occasion? Is it possible you have a drinking problem? Only you can answer and I do not mean to imply that I think you do - just asking.

You need not drink to enjoy yourself or spend to enjoy yourself. The fact that you can do either by choice speaks to the greatness of free countries and free people.
