Default I'm loving Half.com right now

I hadn't sold anything on Half.com recently, but before we went on vacation, I made sure to put my account on "vacation" setting so nothing would sell while I was gone.

Just before we left, UPS pulled up and delivered a stack of identical books that I had earned doing online medical programs. These are programs that take me no more than 5 minutes to complete. I've gotten this same book before from time to time, but this time I got 9 all at once which was kind of amusing.

Anyway, we got home Sunday afternoon. I put my account back on active status and I listed the 9 copies of this book. One copy sold that night. Two more sold yesterday. Last night, I packed up the 3 copies to ship today. This morning, I logged in to mark them as shipped. When I did, I discovered that 2 more copies had sold overnight, so that's 5 sales in just over 48 hours. There isn't a lot of money involved but that is still a profit of over $34.00 for doing very little work.

And I was initially upset thinking, what the heck am I going to do with 9 copies of the same book.

Glad to hear it is all working out! Nine books is a little overkill.

Many programs that I do let me choose my gift, or just give me money. Some, though, automatically send a gift. So I didn't choose to get this book, but obviously getting multiple copies isn't really a problem if I'm able to turn around and sell 5 copies within 2 days.

A 6th copy of the book sold today! First I was upset that I had 9 of them. Now I'm wishing I had 9 more.

8th and 9th (and final) copies sold today. All 9 copies sold in less than 5 days. $7.95 each so that's $71.55 in sales. My profit is $6.83/copy so I'll clear $61.47 on the transactions. That was the easiest money I've made in a long time.

Good job. I sell books on Amazon and I love to wake up in the morning to find an email saying SOLD - ship XYZ book and I feel like I made money while snoozing;-).

To update, I've now sold 14 books on half.com this month for a total of $121.32!

I was thinking of listing some books on half.com. Been checking out their website. Sounds like the fees are much cheaper than ebay.

The great thing about half.com is it is so simple. I sell on ebay and it is a fair amount of work. You have to photograph the item, write a description, choose a category, set a price, determine the shipping cost, etc. Then you have to collect the money and ship the item. With half.com, you just type in the ISBN and the photo and description are already in the system. You can see what everyone else is charging and set your price accordingly. When it sells, half.com pays you. All you do is ship the book. It couldn't be easier.

Generally, fees account for about 15% of the sale price.

I've done similar things. I've bought books at thrift stores that I knew I could sell for more online and turned a decent profit. The Internet is like a gigantic world-wide garage sale.

It is not a new site, but it isn't a general merchandise site like ebay (ebay actually owns half.com). It is for books, videos and CDs.

Haven't sold anything on half for awhile. I may check it out again since I have some books to sell (like 4 boxes)
