Medical debt and bankruptcies
I was reading in the February 14th issue of Time Magazine that medical debt is now the leading cause of bankruptcies.
There has been a 2,200% increase in bankruptcies caused illness or medical debt from 1981 to 2001. Approximately 50% of bankruptcies in 2001 we caused by illness and medical debt.

Thats too bad one thing I have always done on bigger dr bills is make payments the drs offices & hospitals have always been ok with this. As long as you start making payments right away they dont charge interest or turn you into collections.

I have a co-worker who says she is going to file for Bankruptcy because of her Medical Bills. Jacquelyn
