watched documentary called Maxed Out

It was about folks being addicted to credit and how the cc companies prey on people esp. college kids. There were college kids who committed suicide after the stress of going into cc debt from credit cards they got on campus with no jobs by the way.
I plan to teach my son to be responsible and I hope he listens.

It was disguting how it said a major credit card company was the major contributor to a presidential campaign which influenced the new bankrupcy policies.
It was awful how innocent not so savy people were preyed apon to refinance thier homes who did not undertand the terms.
It said cc companies like to give credit cards to people who recently filed bankruptcy b/c they can't do that again. (and so on)

I didn't see the movie, but read the book. The CC companies have done some shady things, but they didn't really hit the personal responsibility aspect. I did really enjoy the book.

personal responsibility=yes agreed. The film didn't touch on it at all.

I watch this around the end of last year.

I watched it and wasn't too impressed. It was as if the people had no blame whatsoever for their own situations. Nobody held a gun to their heads. I really felt it was too one sided and only wanted to portray these companies as evil (which I'm not saying they aren't, but again, nobody forces you to charge up a card, etc).
