Football and men

Can someone enlighten me as to why the IQ of perfectly intelligent men seems to drop into single digits when a football game comes on TV? For some reason I can't understand the excitement and I definitely can't understand why they need to make up their faces in team colors just to watch the game on TV.

Aww don't be so hard on men... I like for them to have their outlet, that allows us to have our outlet. Its automatic, the minute your husband/boyfriend finds objection in something you're passionate about, kindly remind them about their 1:00pm and 4:00pm date with the TV on Sunday Afternoon and their 9:00pm date with Monday Night Football. You have 13 weeks pursue your passion. And if your passion is your man, I suggest you learn a little bit about the game and make it a date you both can enjoy. Men hate it though when you ask them to explain too much of the game to you, so just ask me, cause I love football
