Default Little Tikes on ebay - wow

If any of you have any Little Tikes stuff that your kids aren't playing with anymore, put it on ebay.

I listed a lot of Little Tikes play food items on Wednesday night. By Thursday, the auction had 6 watchers and 1 bid. I also got a shipping question from another country. By this morning, the auction had 8 watchers and 5 bids and still has 5 more days to run. It looks like Little Tikes stuff is in high demand on ebay.

It's always in demand. It goes fast at garage sales and consignment sales, too. It is just great durable stuff.

Too bad, I've already sold mine. Girls are 11 and 8...so we got rid of ours awhile back.

I bet a lot of folks let it go too cheaply at garage sales. They could probably do better on ebay (at least with the small stuff). I know the big pieces like the playsets and all go really well at yard sales. They're usually the first things to sell, especially if you mention them in your ad.

Only slightly related (children's toys), but a trend I realized when I saw it being the case with my friend's daughter... He told me that when he was looking for the classic 'Radio Flyer' little red wagon, he couldn't find it. The only thing he could find was a plastic wagon... still badged with 'Radio Flyer', but what ever happened to the good old metal wagon that little kids could tow down the street making a racket?? ::sigh:: this is the kind of thing that makes even me (22yo) feel old....

I had thought about selling little tykes items but most of it is so large it would be a pain to ship.

The stuff I'm selling is small so easy to ship. I wouldn't want to ship a playhouse or anything like that. I'd sell that stuff on craigslist if I had it. We did sell some larger pieces at yard sales back when we had them.

The right Little People (Fischer-Price) go for a lot of money, too.

I'll have to look around to see if we have any Little Tikes stuff. The last time I did something like this, the kids were fearful that ALL of their toys would end up on eBay.

The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act is basically mandating testing on products consumed by kids 12 and under. (Because of all the lead toys coming from China) It ensures that sellers test their products to make sure they're safe. It includes clothing and toys and all that. The way it's worded it includes all sellers including those who are reselling items and small businesses making items from already tested supplies. So it'll cut down on the ability to buy reused products as well as handmade goods for children.

You can view the whole thing here on the summary page (so you don't have to read all the legal mumbo jumbo).

Information on the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) : Legislation, Statutes, Brief Summaries, and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Scroll to the section 102 summary.

My auction ended tonight for $41.00! I had no idea it would go anywhere near that high. Honestly, I'm pretty sure we bought this stuff at a yard sale when our DD was little. I'm certain we spent nowhere near that much. Gotta love ebay.

Thanks Steve! I just pulled together a bag of FP Little People and will check tomorrow for Little Tykes. I couldn't GIVE away a Little Tykes doll high chair though, and had to haul it to the salvation Army.
