Default interest and taxes on both houses?

I got married last January, so this is the first year I will be doing a married-filing-jointly tax return. We got married in January, but I kept my old house and lived in it for 4 days a week until September (because of my job). He lived full time in our house hours away. In September, we sold my house and I changed my address and driver's license and everything else to our house, but I kept the job and am currently renting a room here 4 days a week.

Will I be able to write off the taxes and interest on both houses? If not, which one will I be able to use? Is there anything else tax wise I need to know because of this arrangement?

Yes, you can deduct it for two houses. Boats even count if you can live on them (bedroom, kithcen & bathroom).

Yes - you can deduct on up to 2 homes. Nothing special about it.
