That HGTV would "Date" their shows. Or at least their real estate shows.
They run reruns ALL THE TIME so its impossible to get an idea of house values even though the shows are getting more and more explicit with the numbers. "My house is worth what?" needs to be dated. How can you have a show about how much appreciation/depreciation a house has earned since it was purchased if you are not telling the public the time frame of the episode? "Property virgins" and "my first place" all give housing prices and talk about if the area is a buyers market/sellers market but that means nothing if its a rerun from last year. So thats my HGTV rant. |

Agreed.

They have added a disclaimer about the risks before the show, and frequently have people who end up with properties languishing on the market nowadays. |

It would be nice if not only if HGTV would date their shows, but some of the other networks as well. I like some of the stuff on foodnetwork, but I know some of the reruns have to be at least 5 years old.

Dish Network tells you the original air date of a show.
