Inkstain is the term we had in college for those of us who still believed that there is a future in print newspapers, rather than learning nothing but online journalism.

What seemed acceptable at 17, is now cringe-worthy as I'm knocking on 30. But it has been my "name" for so long that I can't bear to get rid of it. And so it stays, even though I wince a bit when people ask me for my email address.
I think it is a wonderful name, and since pearl is the name of my husbands grandmother, I don't find it kidish at all.

But then I really am a big kid myself (never mind that I am prolly the same age as you 20something and not planning on switching to 30something, regardless of what the calender says!)

Almond = the shape of my eyes
73 = my year of birth

It's what I came up with when I signed up.

Such a cool thread.

My initials are GAK and when trying to think of a screen name it sounded kinda cool to combine it with the grackle bird. I claim no affinity to the creature except for the love of flying.

I have been an avid woodworker since high school in the '80s. Then became interested in auto racing, and 96 was the number my wife and I picked out for my race truck because it coincided with the day we met. September 6. AWW soo muchy...hehe

My name is the nickname my grandmother would call me. It started as Lissa Lou, and then morphed into Lou Lou.

Default Reason for Nitemarecooper

Well, Nitemarecooper is the first part of my email address. So I use this name on multiple web site requiring a registered username. Easy to remember and normally not taken. A few years ago I wanted a yahoo email address for spam catching purposes and eventually changed to use that for my normal address.

Cooper is my last name and Nitemare is the name of my brother's black cat. The best personality I have ever met in a cat and without a doubt the friendliest cat I've ever known. Cannot get enough of being with people.

Nitemarecooper

Great thread, Steve.

Mine is the initials for "Tired but happy", which is the name of my personal finance blog. I started the blog around the same time I joined this site, but I'm still on the site and the blog is pretty much dead.

"Tired but happy" is good summary of how I feel almost all the time. I think many working parents who like their dayjobs feel this way. I am lucky to have a big family, a lot of friends, 3 different jobs, and a kid. I like everything I do so I don't want to cut back on anything, but it's a lot.

Hence, Tired But Happy.

"feh" can be found in most urban dictionaries. Apparently it can denote disgust, although I generally use it as a statement of indifference.

I'm very even keeled - I tend to not get really happy or really down. And I'm also quite taciturn. So, unless I won the lottery or was hit by a bus, if asked how my day was, I'll often reply with a "feh".

haha I can be much the same way, and though I've never heard of "feh", I frequently use "meh" in essentially the exact same way--indifference, neither good nor bad.

Yes, I believe feh and meh are cousins. I've used "feh" since I first saw it in Matt Groening's "Life in Hell" cartoons.

Mine "ki la pa pi pa" is the first two letters of each person's first name in my family. On a RV site I used " ki la pa pi pa bb" to account for our dog as well. On a diesel forum I frequent, they call me "kila" for short so I have a nickname from it, LOL. I do wonder these things as well. Good idea for a thread, Steve.

I am so uncreative. I hate coming up with screen names so my handle is my first name. Most people don't call me Cassandra (only my Aunt regularly calls me Cassandra), they call me Cassie.
