Default Just discovered the "New Posts" link

Ok, so I'm a little slow sometimes. I've been here over 2 years and just now realized that there is a link on the bar for "New Posts." Up until now, when I come to the site, I check my Control Panel. Then I go into each board to see if any new topics of interest have come along.

I finally saw the New Posts link which does that for me.

I did the bookmark thing a while ago but never saw the "new posts" either or didn't pay attention to it.

If you come to the site more than once a day, it makes it a lot easier to find which threads have new comments.

Exactly why I started the thread. I figured if I didn't realize it, I probably wasn't the only one.

Nothing to thank us about - actually you should probably be mad that we didn't highlight it if this many hadn't seen it. It's been there since the forums have been up (or at least since our last upgrade which was a long time agao)

Hehe. You used to have to find that link in the menus, but now, you can find it right on top which I think is one of the best change ever made on forums.

haha yea, i remember when i first discovered it... I believe either Jim or BA had posted requesting that it filter out the 'freebies', and I finally looked around and found it. I felt kinda dumb to have missed it for so long, but I agree, very useful.

My only complaint is that sometimes there will be a whole lot of new stuff, and i'll only get through part of them all... Then a thread formerly 'new' that i didn't get to yet will be marked 'read' the next time I click 'new posts'. oh well.... can't win 'em all.

I right click and 'open' the threads in a new tab so I run down the line very fast then close the search tab and read the others at my leisure.

Yep, that's how I do it too. When I would try reading a thread at a time, I'd end up getting the message "No posts match your request" when clicking to the next page. By putting each thread in an individual tab, I have no time constraints.
