Default Firewood

I just ordered a cord of firewood. I ordered oak, seasoned, split, delivered and stacked. It is costing us $150.
We could and have cut our own. However we are almost out. They are predicting more ice and sleet, and if our power goes out again we will be in a pickle.
DH is working 12 hour shifts, and taking night classes. Due to a shortage at work, he is working his on vacation and that of someone else. Between now and Jan 3, I think he has 2 days off. But, really its only one, as he comes off nights and will spend that day sleeping, then he has 1 off where he will be awake and go back on days.
So, I think we are justified in ordering the wood.
I shopped for it on craigslist.org the best deal I found, was from a WOMAN and she is about 12 miles away. (never tick off a woman who ownes a chainsaw...)
Some are wanting close to $300 for a cord.
Others are calling a truckload a cord, its not. I have attached a link below to a wonderful website that describes and pictures a cord of wood.

How much wood is in a cord of firewood?

Wow. That sounds like a great deal! I think it is great a woman is being supported in your purchase, too. Enjoy your heat!!

Very informative
I cut my own wood but buy occasionally. Usually by the truckload for about 100 bucks around here. I had heard about the actual size a cord had to be but it's unusual to find someone selling a true cord but I've never looked online.
