Default What's your latte?

Meaning smallish expenses that add up over a month or year.

I took a cold shower last night by accident, I had to wash my kids sheets and me at the same time, bad idea since both really needed hot water (daughter had a messy accident, ick!) Anyway it occurred to me that Hot showers and cable internet are my two main "lattes" . And ones that I do not plan on giving up anytime soon!

I was wondering what anyone else's "latte" was?

my car!...It's old and ugly, but there's NO WAY I'm taking the bus! (if my car breaks down, I ask for rides or I take a cab....I'd rather walk than take the bus!...they are dangerous here!)...

Personal products ~ I love going to Bath & Body Works for face and body products. I do try to use coupons, but I definitely have more than I need!

I have a personal weakness for essential oils. I just LOVE them, and keep a small collection. Fortunately, a little goes a long way....

Oh, and also art supplies -- although I do my best to comparison shop and hit the sales whenever I can.....

Lattes!! 16 oz, double shot, non-fat, white chocolate and coconut, no whip, 140 degrees please That's my big weakness, in fact I budget for them and gave up part of the clothing budget instead!

Lunch, I can't seem to make myself bring lunch to work everyday. It adds up.

Mine is definitely food in general. I don't like to eat oatmeal for dinner (at least very often) in order to save a few bucks. More power to you if you can though.

PrincessPerky,

Yes.. A guy here at work, every night before he goes home/school eats oatmeal. I don't know whether to be jealous or disgusted.

Golf. I can't master it. I can't give it up. I spend way too much money on it.

My morning paper and donut (or other chocolate goodie). For awhile it was McDonald's for lunch. Now I mostly brown bag it to work but every now and then I'll treat myself to a fast food lunch as a "reward".

I've been thinking about this for a while. It is tough to pick something...but I'm going to have to go with:

~~~~aquarium gadgets~~~~
I got this fabulous free aquarium off of freecycle 5 months ago, with all the components, and in excellent shape. I added fish and suddenly my fish have the best life ever. their water quality gets tested, they have many different kinds of food, I clean the tank often, they have an assortment of plants and rocks and playthings...the list goes on. the next thing I want to get for them is an automatic self-feeder, so when I leave for several days, they will be fine without someone stopping by (those dissolving food pyramids just don't dissolve properly).
anyway, right now my main 'latte' is buying too much fun stuff for my aquarium. I adore my fish. I just wish they'd stop having babies.
other things include long, hot showers and baths (but I don't pay for water, so whatever)...cable internet at home....nice conditioner for straw-like hair....and CHOCOLATE.
Scrapbooking stuff is my latte! I love to scrapbook and take pictures of everything. So film developing. I am trying be a little bit more frugal with the accessories of scrapbooking-using coupons and sales. Asking for gifts from the craft store as well.
Tree, have you considered a digital camera? It can be a tad bit pricey up front but the savings from developing can be considerable. On line photo items are quite popular and since you're already computer savvy this might be an overall cost savings for you.
My "latte" is most assuredly . . . . CHOCOLATE!! Especially a Dairy Queen Blizzard with Reeses Peanut Butter Cups and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. Luckily for my wallet and my waistline, I live about 12 miles from the nearest Dairy Queen (which in traffic, is more like about 20 minutes and isn't anywhere close to anywhere else I normally go.)
Keeping It Frugal in Texas,
Laura
