Default What could you do to be more frugal?

I was thinking about this today... what do you need to stop doing, but just haven't? I've been trying to work on my expensive habits one by one. Here they are;

Eating out for lunch instead of packing one. I lasted until the 18th of January before buying a lunch, and then again yesterday. What trips me up is not giving myself enough time in the morning to pack one. Now I will do it the night before.

Paying late fees. Anything from the video store to the mortgage. Did you know that when you ignore your bills they don't go away? Go figure! I'm writing when each one is due on the calendar.

I like to turn the heat up and get the house really cosy. This one is tough because I don't want to change! I get cold easily (low blood pressure). Even now, dressed warmly, under a quilt, with a dog in my lap, the heat is on just a tad over 70. Ahhhh...

All of the solutions are so easy! It's actually following through with them that I'm working on. :

C'mon admit it! What are your weaknesses?

Karen

Shoe shopping. My biggest weakness. I have shoe stores call me when they get new styles in. I have it bad. But so far this year I've not bought a single pair. Thats great for me.

Eating out. Last year I spent over 1500.00 eating out at fast food resturants and going out to resturants with friends. And I didn't really like the food or trust the food preparers so I've given this up for the most part this year. I do have a dinner date tonight, but this is the first this year.

Movies was a big expense last year. Went along with eating out. My friends and I would meet for a movie and then go out to eat. Movies are 7.50 a pop and we might start at 5pm and see another one the same night then go eat. Now we've found a dollar movie that has the latest movies, 3 weeks after release. So I can cut substantially by going to the dollar show and coming home.
