Default Entertainment Book

I noticed the banner advertisement for the Entertainment book. I have seen them before, but have never purchased one. Are they worth the price and what are they best used for? Has anyone here used them before?

They are a good value if you fall into one of a number of areas. If you go out to eat in your local area with any regularity, they are certainly worth the price. Also if you attend local attractions on a regular basis.

If you are traveling to another city for sightseeing/vacation, they will almost always more than pay for themselves.

You can read an article I wrote on them a while back: Getting 50% Discounts

In the past I've used them to get god prices on movie tickets. They're also good if you eat at the restaurants/fast food places that advertise in them.

I use the books all the time and they save me a lot. I don't eat out much or travel myself, but I do have quite a few friends come to visit me. Since they have coupons for local attraction, it saves me quite a bit when I take guests to the local attractions. The books pay for themselves rather quickly.

I have used the books in the past when hubby and I would go out to eat alot. Around the holidays, there are a lot of fundraiser groups that sell them.

I beleive now most of them you can get a discount. I haven't seen the banner but usually they are $20-$25 when selling at the beginning of the year.

We buy one most years...sometimes we buy it later in the year so it is cheaper. I think we always get our money worth out of it but not much more. We just don't eat out that much. There are other coupons in it too...like for entertainment and travel, but we don't seem to use them much.

I travel alot so the coupons for car rentals more then make up for the cost of the book. The book cost me 30 this year and I have probably used coupons that have saved myself or friends close to 150 bucks. If you travel frequently enough they are a godsend.

We buy it for Austin (a 5-6 hour drive) because that's the midpoint to meet family so we go there for weekend trips every 4-6 months and then we're through there for various trips (like we'll be meeting my mom in Dallas soon) or DH has business trips that take him through there.

We've paid for ours already, just doing what we would pretty much have to do anyway. The first weekend we used it, it came very close to paying for itself (we were with the ILs so some of the money saved was theirs).

If you go to their site, you can search for local restaurants and merchants in your area to determine if there are enough to make it worthwhile.
