Default Tipd: Social News Site for Money Related Topics

Hey all,
I emailed Jeff and he said it was cool if I asked for feedback on a project I've been asked to be a (small) part of, he gave me the green light to post this.

Earlier this week, a new social news site focused on money (investing, green, personal finance, etc) was launched called Tip'd (http://tipd.com). It's like reddit and Digg, though focused entirely on money related topics. I was hoping to get feedback from the SavingAdvice forums on what you thought, what you liked, disliked, thought could be improved.

The first question people often ask is why another social news site? I think that all the other sites are too broad and, if you're interested in financial news, you have to wade through too many popculture type items to find the good ones. Tipd seeks to highlight that which we are most interested in.

All these types of sites benefit from the network effect, the more people who use it, the more valuable the site becomes. Since launch two days ago, nearly 600 people have signed up so it's growing very quickly. Keep in mind though that it's still new so activity will be there, it just won't be a tidal wave.

Anyway, if you have a moment, please check out and let me know what you think. Thanks!
