Question E-Commerce Essay Question Help

I know everyone on this forum likes both business and the internet, so I decided to come here and get help with a question. For my E-Commerce class we have an essay to write and here is the question: "How can the web help a company obtain a competitive advantage? Give an example of a company that uses the web to provide a superior product or service to their target market.

Competitive advantage is defined as- when a firm can produce a superior product or bring the product market at a lower price than most or all, of their competitors.

I looked in the book and couldn't find the answer.

Thanks for the help!

I don't know how old you are, but you certainly shouldn't need to look in any books to answer this question. There are dozens of companies that do business online and have a competitive advantage over their competition. I'm not going to do your homework for you (I won't do my daughter's either so don't feel bad) but I'm sure if you spend any time online, shop online, sell online, etc. you are already familiar with at least a few of these companies.

Depending on length and depth of the essay, that shouldn't be difficult at all.

Dell, Amazon, and eBay immediately comes to mind....

I'm not doing anybody else's homework either, but those are pretty good starting points.
