Default help zip or winzip??

I need it to download some school materials. I have been told by several computer savy people that I should find a free version to download online.
I have windows xp and dialup but can't seem to find anything.

Does anyone out there know where I can get it to save the money that some of the sites want to buy it?

windows xp should have its own zipping application. just right click on a file and choose send to compressed folder and that will create a zip file.

I use the evaluation version of winzip and it is great as it never expires. just google for winzip download and you will find it.

you might want to try winrar also which supports zip files and a bunch of other files and it's very fast and IMHO much better than the normal winzip, and evaluation version works well. If it's for a few courses only, then this might be beyond the scope though
