cheaper cell phone

i have cell phone service with uscellular, but my contract expires in january and i wonder if i can get the same features i have with them somewhere else for cheaper? it just seems a little high ( i know i have a lot of features) i can afford it, but why pay it if you can get it cheaper right? just to clarify, me and my husbnd share a phone, and we use it as our only phone (no land line) and my mom is on our plan (also no land line)we share 1000 minutes- usually use most
mine and hubbys phone: 65
insurance(hubby and mm have a tendancy to wash) 10 per phone: 20
extra line:10
unlimited texting on moms phone( she makes money through it somehow):15
Taxes:10

= $120 per month any idea where i can get this cheaper? i called some companies but they are always so vague about how much they cost after the intro rates that i cannot get a straight answer.

I recommend checking out the discount carriers in your area.

For example, there's a discount cellular provider in my area called Cricket Wireless, and they essentially offer unlimited everything for roughly $45 per month.

The alternative is to minimize or eliminate cellphone usage and features. If you don't need it, you can get your costs even lower.

Mine and DW's averages around 90.00 with AT&T. Everyone we know is with them so we don't need a lot of minutes.

thats the problem, we need the features my mom makes money with the texts, and she has so many kids and grand kids that she needs the minutes, plus we live out in the country, so we have to have a cell, cause if we break down it could be up to a 20-30 mile walk to get to a phone- i will have to check and see if i can find something like that cricket around here hope so! thanks for the advice!

Personally I believe insurance is a waste. I had it for two years on my phone, then when it finally died of old age, Altel refused to allow me to use it because the phone was not stolen, wetted, or broken. It just died.

This really pissed me off, plus I had to pay the first $50 anyway on an $80 phone. I just paid cash and dropped the insurance. I probably should have made a scene, but I was so annoyed I payed for the phone myself.

I have T-Mobile for 3 people with 800 minutes. It comes to a little less than $85 a month. However, unlimited texting would be an additional $19.99/month, and 1000 minutes would mean another $10/month, plus a few bucks tax on top of that...nope, you won't save anything there.

We're actually going to try and go prepaid or something once our contract's up, but that's because we barely use any of our minutes, but we DO use text-messaging or 411 sometimes, which cost extra, which push our bill up some months. I'd rather pay for minutes and have it vary than see like 500 minutes go unused but be charged for a couple of text messages.

BTW in England they do not count or charge minutes for incoming calls. Spread the word that the U.S. is getting ripped off by the same companies offering those sweet deals overseas!!!

In the Philippines, incoming calls are not charged, too.
