I've ordered Pizza (papa johns) and the pizza came on time. I haven't ordered groceries before online.

What kind of food were you referring to?

^^ I'm pretty sure he's referring to groceries.

Any who, I set up for my grandmother to get her groceries delivered from Stop & Shop. She's a little to old to drive, and has slight touch of dementia so brining her to the grocery store is a bit of a headache. I'm glad I set it up; it’s extremely convenient for her, its easy to set up an account with Stop & Shop, and pick what items you want delivered. Granted, once in a while they mix up the order, but other than it’s a breeze.

i dont trust anyone enough with my food selections (what if its out of date?? what if the box is dented??). Plus, i live near a large city so we have every grocery store chain imaginable within 5 miles of here.

I have - but only order frozen, packaged and tinned goods as I prefer to pick out my own fresh produce.

It saves me money as I always spend more in store than I intend to. I also save on shopping time and petrol for deliverly.

There is a chrage for deliverly charge if the order is under a certain amount.

I have ordered food online from Safeway online shopping. I love, love and loved it. Instead of spending an hour or so at the grocery store, I was armed with all my cutting boards and knives while waiting for the groceries to be delivered. Then I would spend my hour precutting some of the veggies, cutting apart the meat for freezer portions.

I found out by online ordering that my meat was fresher and leaner than what I could find in the store. They actually do their ordering straight from the butcher directly and not at the leftovers that are in stocks at the store itself. I learned this afterwards when one of my friends got a job with the online delivery at Safeway which confirmed my theory why the meat was fresh. The fruit and veggies were ripe and beautiful. I think there is more pressure with the online delivery to make sure everything is good. I had to pay a 10 dollar delivery fee each time but it was well worth it. My grocery bill would be less than what I came up with if I had done the shopping myself. I believe it was because I was not tempted to put more food in my cart than what I needed. Also my staples were automatically listed each time I go shopping online which made the ordering much quicker.

Because I have moved too far from the city, I can no longer get this service and have been pretty bummed about that.

to my knowledge, this is not even available in my area! but i have done the next best thing, which is sign up for a CSA (community-sponsored agriculture) share, so that, once a week, 2 block away, i go to pick up a huge box of local produce and other goodies like fresh eggs, cheese, etc.
