401K employer contribution matching?

Hello all,

Taking the sentence below in account:

"Company XXX will match 100% of the first 4% of your pre-tax contributions."

If someone makes $100K a year and contributes $10K. Does the company match:

a) $4K

or

b) $400

Hi Adamcannon, welcome to the forum's..

If your company gives you a 100% match up to 4%, and you make $100,000 and put in $4,000 (4%), your company will also contribute $4,000 (4%).

4k- if you put in 4% they would also contribute 4%.
