Default Unusual places for everyday purchases

I wonder if other people have found bargains at unusual places on things they buy frequently.

Here's my example. Recently my spouse wanted 20 matching, ready-made picture frames of a standard size. We visited a couple of places to see what the options were. Garden Ridge was one of them. While there I spotted cotton and mixed fiber scrubs pants, shirts, and jackets at a very good price. I thought the cotton pants would be very comfortable for gardening, so I had a look and found some ugly, but sturdy ones I'd be willing to wear. Actually, the ones I found were not even scrubs, but a full-cut tailored with front pleats. So they were roomy like scrubs. Well, husband found his frames for an amazing $7.99 each and then at the register my $3.99 pants rang up for 1 cent. The cashier said that it is store policy that if an item rings up for less than its displayed price, they must give it to the customer at that price. So I walked out with one cent new garden pants.

The thing is, Garden Ridge is sort of a home decoration store. They sell sofa pillows, patio furniture, artificial flowers, glass vases, ceramic vases, table clothes, bed-in-bag sets, tableware, wall decor, rugs, etc. Who would think to look for clothes there? Not me.

Oh, they also had $10 Levi's brand jeans.
