Default Teaching children about money

Does anyone have some good advice on how to teach children about money or have a good story from your own childhood about how you learned about the value of money? The child is age 4 (knows about money, but doesn't get an allowance), but I'm interested in any ideas for any age kid since my friends often ask and they have a wide range of ages.

easiest way is to let them buy things with money they earned. You dont have to look up on the internet to learn how to teach your kids to be responsible with money. When they dont have the money let them earn it by working. Teaches them value in a dollar.

Um, Terin, this is like the third thread you've responded to saying that "you don't need to ask anyone on the internet that question." So, why are you here reading this stuff? Are you here to learn? Or pass judgment?

Most people ask these questions to learn. Or get a different opinion than their own so they can see a different perspective. Or just see what their internet friends say about a subject they were thinking about. This sure would be a boring place to come to if no one could ask beginning-level or slightly esoteric questions.
